| Customer Reviews: A great MP3 Player December 22, 2009 Robin Weng (Ottawa, ON Canada) 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
This 4G MP3 player is the best one I have had so far. It has a glossy black front surface and a glossy silver backside. Although these finishes attract fingerprints and smears, it gives the player a great appearance. It came with a protective pouch, stereo headphones, a USB cable, and a manual (which didn't really help, so I used the online manual from Coby's website). The MP3 player seemed a little long, but I quickly got over this after seeing the screen. The 2 inch screen is brilliant, and the touch controls are fabulous. I remember opening the package and watching the controls light up from a seeming nothingness. The ring that you see on the bottom half of the player is just there for decoration. A small issue with the touch controls is that they turn off too quickly. Also, you have to touch a button for a noticeable amount of time before it recognizes it as a hold.
At first, I had a hard time plugging the player into my computer and reading files on it. However, I got past this problem by going into the player's setup and changing its USB mode settings.
The sound quality is great, but I didn't really like the headphones that came in the package. I recommend buying separate headphones.
Photos look nice on this Mp3 player; you can rotate them between portrait and landscape format. You can even zoom into pictures!
Videos play great on the MP3 player's 2 inch TFT LCD screen; however, I can sometimes notice the buffer in scenes where something big is moving or many things are moving at the same time. Video conversion went well for me. I just downloaded a video converter from Coby's website and I used it to convert videos into the 176x220 format required for the player. I copied the converted videos onto the player without Coby Media Manager and even though a warning popped up saying that the videos may not play because I did not use Coby Media Manager to put them on, the videos played perfectly fine.
The FM radio is decent, although I can hear static in the background. I haven't figured out whether or not this is due to my location. The FM radio feature is still a nice feature to have in this MP3 player.
E-books display nicely on this player, although I rarely use this feature.
All in all, this MP3 is a great product. Its 4G capacity is all I need for my videos and music. It is appealing and is definitely worth the price.
Not as great as it looks. September 26, 2009 iLean (Toronto, ON Canada) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
First of all, the actual MP3 did not come in a baby blue colour, it was a bland typical blue. It didn't look anywhere near as nice as depicted in the picture.
[EDIT ON JULY 18, 2010: I noticed that...their picture changed from when I originally wrote my review. The current picture is a more accurate representation of the actual product. Thank you for not misleading your consumers.]
When I got it, the hold/on button already seemed kind of defective...and I'm scared it will break within a limited time of usage.
When you have it on "hold", any time you accidentally brush/touch the touchpad, the video or song that is currently playing would pause for like, 2 seconds. I don't want the whole song to take three times as long to complete and with unattractive pauses in between. But I guess as long as you leave it in your pocket or not touch it at all, it's fine.
Originally, the first few times I used it, I vowed to return it. After a while, I just got use to it and learned to work around the flaws...so then it was fine. :)
Beware: Different specs from Amazon.com and Amazon.ca August 8, 2009 Danilo Garduce (Miss., Canada) 10 out of 14 found this review helpful
I search from Amazon.com and it was indicated as 8gb mp3 player. I took the item # and ordered it from Amazon.ca, this item from Amazon.ca doesn't contain specifications and when I received it, it was only 4gb
