Le ASUS Eee PC répond à mes attentes. Petit, il roule toutes les applications de base tel la suite office, itune, etc. Au premier démarrage, on choisit sa langue, ce qui était un soucis à l'achat. Jusqu'à maintenant, sa puissance n'a pas été un problème. J'ai toutefois mis 2 Go de ram.

Pros:
- The casing is rugged AND the screen is matte! No fingerprints can be seen at all.
- Multitouch works great!
- 1001P's N450 processor can be overclocked to 2.0GHz with "SetFSB" with no power drain whatsoever.
- One of the best screens this size I've ever come across with. White balance is perfect and contrast is surprisingly good.
Cons:
- Lid does not shut close; it hangs.
- Mass-produced casing feels unpolished, often with uncut plastic trimmings sticking out from the sides.
- This machine handles Windows 7 Professional perfectly well. Putting starter on it is just a waste of license.
- Unlike other reviews, said 11-hour battery only lasts 9 hours even if I underclock the processor.
- Up/Down arrow keys are too small.
- Things as trivial as Fn hotkeys require extra drivers.
There are many cons, but it is such a beauty overall that "it works perfectly" is all that I care about.

Bought it about a month ago, and no problems yet. it was stated that it comes with xp, but it actually comes with windows 7 starter. I plugged in 2 gbs of ram right away, and it runs fairly smoothly. able to run most video's without to many hiccups. barely notice it being 'back heavy' as said by some other buyers.
keyboard is also a huge plus. needed no adjustments at all. Comes with a lot of bloatware, as do most computers. looks very slick. Have yet to buy a case for it (been using a towel to bring it to classes haha). good price, good buy

The 1001p blows away most other 10" netbooks regardless of cost. Had this machine for a few days now and highly recommend this purchase.
Things to consider that make the 1001p stand out from many other netbooks:
1. Awesome Matte Screen. NO glare! (unlike most other netbooks).
2. Great keyboard, super fast and comfortable to type on, (and it's a NORMAL, standard English keyboard NOT the almost unusable bilingual keyboard usually forced on Canadians).
3. Excellent touchpad... (no need for a mouse with this netbook).
4. Slim, clean design (even with the 6 cell battery installed).
5. Nice matte (black) finish on most of the 1001p surfaces, (doesn't show finger prints like many other netbooks).
6. Really small and light power brick.
Notes:
I'm used to winxp, but the win7 is not bad, runs ok with 1gb ram, not a ton of bloatware installed, 720p hd video runs fine, quiet, cool, etc, etc.
Amazon supersaver shipping was quick.
I also have 2 well designed highly rated netbooks at home, (Samsung NC10 and LG x110) to compare against and other than the lack of dedicated pageup and pagedown keys (like the NC10) I'd say the 1001p keyboard is perfect. The 1001p screen isn't quite as bright as either the nc10 or x110 but it's still very good.
Update Mar 3, 2010: Screen brightness is able to be increased with latest bios update, very simple, just a few clicks (Start > All Programs > ASUS > ASUSUpdate for Eee PC > ASUSUpdate, then choose update bios from internet in the list box).
I originally purchased (and returned) a new hp mini 210. Unfortunately hp's new netbook has some major design flaws, for example a poor choice of touchpad (no dedicated buttons), and a non standard location for that touchpad, which among other problems, often results in the cursor jumping all over the screen while typing. Almost illegible font to mark the function keys on the hp and the hp 6 cell battery also protrudes much farther than the 1001p.
